Owls In Parks - The Parks and the Owls
Welcome To the Owls New Home
Coming through 2024 and early 2025 I will define and refine the look and feel of this new website dedicated to the Owls and the Parks where I have encountered them.
Starting with a reworking of my experiences in Vancouver's Stanley Park. The rework of old pages for that section does not reflect the style to be used for other parks. They will be much simpler - galleries with appropriate images and some limited stories behind the images. After Stanley Park I expect to begin with Beacon Hill in Victoria (where the image above was taken).
Origins
Many years ago I created a website called OwlsInThePark (later StanleyParkOwls) with the purpose of describing my encounters with the owls of Vancouver's most famous park.
That project was too large to manage and was never really completed, but still had lots of valuable information. So rather than waste all the data, I will be reformatting key pieces and include them in this website. Many of the photographs of owls taken though the years will eventually be included somewhere on this site.
The two sites mentioned at the top of this page will now bring you here. There was also confusion with a UK football (soccer) team called the Owls (they have a park, apparently).
Status
2023 November - work started. Initial fill out with data from the older "origin" sites completed.
2023 December and onward - new material (new parks) to be added, out of date (origin) information to be updated, etc.
